Mental Health Awareness
At The Mind Thread, mental health conversations are seen as something that should be open, engaging, and empowering. The Mental Health Awareness Workshop is designed to spark curiosity, challenge stigma, and provide practical tools that can be used every day.
This interactive session goes beyond theory – it’s about real-life understanding, relatable examples, and practical strategies that make a difference. Through guided discussion, activities, and reflection, participants explore the many sides of mental health in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
Understand the concept of mental health as a continuum and why it matters
Recognise how stress impacts the brain and body - and identify healthy coping strategies
Gain a foundational understanding of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and psychosis
Understand the role of stigma and how to challenge it
Build confidence in supporting others with empathy and active listening
Understand how unhelpful behaviours form and how they can be addressed
Have increased awareness of suicide and self-harm
